Daily Schedule

 

 

                  Attention all students in the Cooking Classes in Magdalena Mid-High School.

       I miss you all and am sorry our classes had to end in this manner.  I hope you are all doing

       good.  To continue our class I thought it would be fun to have a  COOKING AT HOME UNIT.

       I will be posting recipes on my school website.  My phone number is 505-287-6007 and I will keep office   

       hours Tuesdays 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.

 

                                                         Hershey’s Vanilla Chip Fruit Tart

     First Step:      Measure:  ¾ Cup Butter, ½ Cup Confectioner’s sugar, l ½ Cups All purpose flour, Heat over to 300.

                            Beat butter and confectioners sugar until light and fluffy;; blend in flour.  Press mixture onto the                                             bottom and up side of 12 inch round pizza pan.  Bake 20-25 minutes or until lightly  browned.                                                 Cool completely.

     Second Step:  Prepare Vanilla Filling; Spread on cooled crust.  Cover and Chill.

                             10 oz vanilla chips, ¼ cup whipping cream, 1 package of cream cheese, softened

                             Microwave the vanilla chips and whipping cream for 1 – 1 l/2 minutes or until chips are melted and                                        mixture is smooth when stirred.  Beat in cream cheese.

 

     Third Step:      Prepare fruit:   Sliced strawberries, mandarin oranges, blueberries, pineapple chunks, kiwi

     Fourth Step:   Glaze:  l/4 cup sugar, 1 Tablespoon cornstarch, ½ cup pineapple juice, ½ teaspoon lemon juice

                             In a small saucepan combine sugar and cornstarch; stir in juices.  Cook over medium heat, stirring  

                            constantly, until thickened; cool.

     Fifth Step::      Arrange fruit on top of the filling:  Brush glaze mixture over fruit.  Chill.
